Summary:
This position will report to the VP of Operations. This position is based in the Rancho Dominguez plant. The Regional Maintenance Engineer will support equipment escalation issues for ADE West, assisting GMs and Plant maintenance personnel to develop action plans and provide on-site troubleshooting for complex downtime issues. He or she will be responsible for developing and updating maintenance tools, consisting of equipment narratives, troubleshooting guides, standard work procedures, and equipment PMs, while providing the necessary training and support to plant maintenance, operators, and production managers/supervisors. He or she will be responsible for the analysis of CMMS work data to identify issues, conduct RCA, and implement effective countermeasures to prevent recurrence to reduce equipment downtime, and improve overall equipment reliability. As the Regional Maintenance Engineer, the incumbent will execute equipment maintenance, Capital Projects, or project work packages as part of the project team as assigned through a matrix organizational structure by the PMO Manager and approved by the Sr. VP of Technical Services.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide hands-on support working with plant maintenance personnel as needed for complex electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of equipment, with verification and documentation within the work order.
Define, document, and deploy maintenance tools, equipment narratives, troubleshooting guides, standard work, PM strategies, and PMs for all equipment, along with training of plant maintenance, operators, and production managers/supervisors.
Apply reliability-centered maintenance techniques, including root cause analysis and Pareto analysis, to identify critical issues and high-frequency failures, implementing robust countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence and drive continuous improvement.
Develop plans and ensure compliance with equipment PMs.
Identify spare parts and develop a spare parts list for plant equipment, ensuring appropriate stock levels and collaborating with plant leadership to order and maintain inventory efficiently.
Administer and ensure accuracy and training on CMMS for the region as assigned.
Develop, deploy, and maintain facility layouts to ensure material flow is optimized while ensuring compliance with the EHS protocols, local and federal codes.
Execute maintenance CAPX projects as assigned by the PMO Manager via a matrixed org structure, adhering to the defined project management best practices.
Manage maintenance-related projects and outages by overseeing scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring successful execution of equipment installations, ancillary component change-outs, and refurbishments.
Manage contractors for repairs and project execution, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and timelines.
Provide hands-on field supervision for the installation and start-up of equipment and facility projects.
Comply with EHS (Safety, Health and Environment) policies and country, state, and local legal requirements with support from divisional EHS management
Drive the continuous improvement of maintenance KPI’s including DT, PM Compliance, MTB,F, and MTTR through Pareto Analysis and Root Cause Analysis Techniques.
Provide assistance in identifying and implementing technology improvements and cost reductions.
Interface with equipment manufacturers and vendors in order to maintain a positive working relationship and remain current on new equipment capabilities and technology advancements.
Provide both written and oral communication on an ongoing basis to both the Regional Operations Management and Executive Engineering.
Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
Ability to travel overnight up to 10%

This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.
Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5 years or more experience, preferably in an industrial metals manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting experience of pumps, motors, cooling systems, basic control system functionality, industrial furnaces, and combustion systems
Knowledge of heat treatment equipment, vacuum furnaces, batch IQ, and air furnaces is a plus.
Demonstrated experience in reliability-centered maintenance techniques, including root cause analysis and Pareto analysis, with a proven ability to identify critical factors and recurring issues while implementing effective countermeasures for continuous improvement.
Knowledge of spare parts identification and inventory management.
Must have knowledge and practice, or be willing to obtain Lean Certification.
Experience with administering and navigating CMMS systems.
Highly motivated and able to manage and prioritize time with a sense of urgency.
Must have planning skills to ensure resources are utilized efficiently.
Must be able to respond to equipment breakdown emergencies.
Strong coordination and communication skills for working with plant leadership. Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and databases, is required. CAD experience is required.
Physical & Mental Demands:
Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
Ability to hear in person and via phone.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130,000-$150,000 per year. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This position is classified as exempt and paid on a salary basis.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible for annual bonus plan based on performance measures and targets aligned with the company’s strategic goals and direction.
